The Extreme Basketball Battle (titled Longest Dunk Wins) is a Dude Perfect Battle video. This was the 55th solo battle and second solo battle in 2021.
Rules[]
There are two rounds to qualify for the Finale. One person is eliminated in the first round. The winner of Round 1 chooses a teammate to compete with in Round 2. When two people are eliminated in Round 2, the last two people will be against each other and qualify for a long basketball dunk Finale.
Summary[]
Round 1[]
In the first round, all five DP members are standing on slippery surfaces and they attempt to climb up slippery staircases and dunk a basketball in a net at the top. The first four to dunk their basketball qualify for Round 2 and the last person left is eliminated.
As the game started, most of everyone wasn't able to crawl up the first staircase as everyone was dragging people down. As Tyler was going up, Coby threw a basketball at him which caused him to fall again. Cory had the idea to have a running start as he started to try running without falling successfully and reached the second surface. As the space was cleared, it was Cory who successfully dunked his hoop in the net at the top as the first person to move on to the second round.
Tyler had finally reached the second level and immediately slid down as Cody pulled his legs back down to the first level. Coby attempted to use Tyler's back as a stool to climb up easily to the second level and failed. As Garrett and Cody catch their breath, Cody slowly and successfully reaches the second surface. As Tyler fails the first surface again, Cody successfully dunked his basketball.
With the last three; Tyler, Garrett and Coby. Tyler with a lot of space successfully climbed up the two staircases and dunked his basketball. Garrett and Coby were the last two standing. Coby was able to reach a distance away from Garrett as Coby had finally dunked the last basketball in the net with Garrett eliminated from the rest of the competition. As Cory was the first man to dunk the basketball in, he was able to choose Tyler as his teammate for Round 2.
Round 2[]
The next day, the two teams were against each other for a catapult basketball shot competition. The first team to score their shot advances to the Finale as the team are separated and are against each other in the Finale.
With Cody and Coby as the first team to shoot, they had a horrible shot wide to the right. Cody made a bet to the viewers; $20, if the opposing team misses. Their shot was on target and hit the backboard closely hit hard out. Tyler and Cory were still confident, as the other team shot. They were closer only not enough distance to make the shot. After Tyler and Cory missed their next two shots, Cody and Coby had a really close shot off the rim. Tyler suggested that him and Cory would go for more line drives, but then did not have enough shot on the power and missed. Cody and Coby had another close shot off from the backboard hard out on the rim. With Tyler and Cory pulling the next catapult, they had finally converted their shot with a swish as they both qualified for the long dunk Finale.
Cody mentioned that he was happy for the opposing team, and did not care about the loss because of his win in the first solo battle of 2021, and cheered on for Cory in the Finale against Tyler.
Finale[]
In the Finale with Tyler and Cory, they were played in a long basketball dunk Finale. The scoring is by basketball nets by scores from -2 to 30. There were also multipliers based on skills used (x2 for through the legs, x3 for behind the back and x4 for a front flip). Both members had three attempts to finish with the highest score to win the battle.
Tyler was up first and shot 5 points with a behind the back skill which totalled 15 points. Cory had the thought to get more points than Tyler for each round. He attempted his shot with a through the legs shot, but had missed the nets with him not scoring any points. In Tyler's second attempt, he had immediately done a backflip and scored in the 15-point net for 60 points. Tyler had then totalled 75 points and Cory with none so far. Cory's attempt had a behind-the-back and a long shot in the 25-point net for 78 points. As Tyler fell behind three points, he made a double through-the-legs skill in the three points net for 12 points. As Cory only needed 10 points to win, he decided pre-shot to do a behind-the-back skill and throw the ball in the 5-point net. As his final shot came, he attempted the behind-the-back skill and accidently dropped the ball causing Cory to gain no points as Tyler won the battle by nine points in the end.
